As a result of the recent implementation of the Financial Services (Distributed Ledger Technology Providers) Regulations 2017 the Gibraltar Financial Services Commission have finalised an application process for the issuance of licences to those firms providing or intending to provide DLT related services.
As from January 2018, the GFSC will be accepting application for these licences with transitional arrangements for firms already carrying out DLT activities in Gibraltar. All firms which engage in or intend to engage in DLT activities will require a licence.
